Chef’s Talk in April

Greetings Chefs!
We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves at last month’s event in MAYA. Brad Turley definitely knows how to throw a party and we are sorry to see him leave the Shanghai scene for a while (though he assures us he’ll be back every so often!)
We want to congratulate Factory on their opening earlier this month, and on the success of their ‘Too Many Chefs’ event; bringing together 10 different top chefs in Shanghai and having the balls to do it on their opening night.
For this month’s event, we advise that everyone get in touch with their feminine side…April’s Chef’s Talk will be held at the Barbie Café. We hope to see you all there.
And wear something pink!

Chef’s Talk in March -09

This month’s Chef’s Talk will be held at the margarita hotspot of all places – Mexican restaurant MAYA. Chef Brad Turley will be hosting this event on the 31st March (Tuesday night).
We would like to also thank Pinnacle Peak for last month’s event and congratulate them on their official opening earlier this month.
We look forward to seeing you all at MAYA and hope that you’ve had a great month. Please feel free to invite any newcomers to the event.

Chef’s Newsletter 02/09

This month’s Chef’s Talk will be at Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse on the 24th of this month.
Steven Smith is taking care of this cool, authentic Texas Western Saloon and hired Chef Eric Brown to take care of the kitchen. We look forward to taste some great stuff from the BBQ and apparently Steven has some cool beverage surprises for us.
We would like to thank and commend K5 for hosting last month’s event as it was a great night; with a few hanging back till the early hours of the morning…thanks to K5’s executive chef Peter Gong!
Please do let us know of any information that you would like to post on the chef’s website, or if you yourself are interested in doing some writing, you are more than welcome to send in some articles/ post comments. (Swearing is only minimally edited!)
We hope that Valentine’s Day went smoothly for everyone, and now that Chinese New Year is finally over, we hope that things will pick up everywhere and slowly get better!

Dear Chefs,
Chef’s Talk this month will be held in Stiller’s Restaurant at The Cool Docks. As our restaurant is now finally getting into the swing of things, we are happy to be able to host the event this month.
Receiving such a significant turn-out at last month’s gathering, we hope this month will be the same. Please do let us know if there are any new chefs in town who would like to join us or be on our database.
If you have any special events or news that you would like posted on the chef’s website, feel free to send an e-mail as we would like the site to have as much input from the chefs here in Shanghai. Or if you would like to contribute any articles on how you cope with the daily insane mentality of Shanghai – living and working as a chef that would be great as well. Dear Chefs,
This month’s Chef’s Talk will be held at Le Royal Meridien, in their 789 Bar. After an embarrassingly low turn out at last month’s Oktoberfest, we are hoping that this month’s chef’s talk will consists out of more than just a handful of Hyatt chefs…no offense intended, guys.
We are pleased to inform that the Shanghai Chefs website (www.shanghai-chefs.com) is once again up and running online. It is still currently in the process of being redeveloped. However, we are hoping that once it is completed, it will be a continuous source of information for new as well as established chefs in this city.
Connected to the website is a forum for discussions and employment postings. Please feel free to post any vacancies or applications, and do contact us if you would like to have any input concerning the website.
We are also in the process of updating our chef database, and would appreciate if you could inform us as to whether you are still interested in being on our mailing list.
We look forward to seeing you at Le Meridien and hope that business has been back to normal after all the Olympic chaos!
